meet austin

Austin is a dedicated public servant, lawyer, and proud Cleveland native. He grew up in a union family where the work ethic was uncompromising—an ethic that carried him through college on a Pell Grant and Stafford Loan, and to law school and beyond.

He served his fellow Clevelanders as a lawyer and advisor in City Hall: defending workers' rights, holding out-of-state slumlords accountable, supporting investment in housing and transit, and securing resources to combat illegal guns.

Austin and his wife Anna are raising their young family in Tremont. They’re committed to their neighborhoods as safe places to live and play, surrounded by a strong and lively community.

For Austin and Anna, Cleveland is home in every sense of the word. They subscribe to the Ohio City Farm’s weekly produce, watched the eclipse in Lincoln Park, got engaged in Wendy Park, and think the Ms. Dyngus Day pageant is the best part of the year.

ISSUES

Our neighborhoods—Detroit Shoreway, Ohio City, Tremont, the Flats—should be places where everyone can put down roots, feel safe, and access the resources they need to thrive.

That means investing in safer streets with more traffic calming.

That means more housing, for neighbors of every background and income level.

And that means strong city services that serve us all.

By building on our incredible strengths, we can ensure that the Near West Side remains a vibrant and welcoming place for all.
